
Discover ROAD Innovation District project
The first permanent Living Lab which aims at becoming the workshop of ideas in the smart city of Rome. The project is promoted by the Ministry of Economic Development, in collaboration with the Universities of Rome (La Sapienza, Roma Tre, Tor Vergata and LUISS Guido Carli), partners such as Innova, LVenture, Pekaboo and corporate partners Acea, WindTre, and Tim. The CTE hosts themed events, seminars and call 4 ideas for the innovative ecosystem of Roma Capitale, pursuing business acceleration and technology transfer.

Acea received the Companies for Innovation Award (Premio Imprese per Innovazione) in the Prize category, a recognition awarded by Confindustria to Italian enterprises who invest in innovation to bring “value to the organization and the culture of the company”. Acea also won the Prize of Prizes, a national initiative promoted by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers at the behest of the Presidents of the Republic. The prize is awarded in the Industry and Services category to the 9 companies who received the Companies for Innovation Award: the top three companies in the Large Enterprise category and the top six in the Medium and Small Enterprise category.

Acea is taking part in The Big Hack, the programming marathon organised by Maker Faire Rome - The European Edition. Developers, makers, engineers, designers, communication experts, students and technology enthusiasts will team up during the event to respond to the challenges launched by public administration, companies and research centres. The goal is developing innovative applications to improve aspects of daily life.
Acea presents 'GEO: Green, Ecological, Open Society', a sustainability-themed challenge dealing with the concepts of ecological and digital transition, aimed at pursuing the sustainable development goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. The challenge is an invitation to propose innovative services and solutions for citizens to make cities increasingly smart and sustainable.

Acea attends SMAU, the event dedicated to the world of innovation for businesses and public administrations. In 2022 the Group won the "Premio Innovazione SMAU" (SMAU Innovation Award) for the "3W-Women, Welfare and Work-life balance" Call 4 Start up, an open call launched in partnership with La Carica delle 101 and aimed at female startups to find solutions to be added to corporate welfare services.

SEP is an integrated pan-European platform that helps the best startups to emerge and facilitates access to funding. In 2019 Acea attended all the planned summits in Milan, Tel Aviv, London, Stuttgart and Madrid.

OPEN ITALY is the innovation ecosystem born within the ELIS Consortium. Its aim is to encourage dialogue and collaboration among large companies, Italian start-ups / SMEs and innovation enablers such as accelerators, research centres, Venture Capitalists and young talents through concrete innovation projects. A space where diverse stakeholders can discuss, with the purpose of developing innovative solutions within the Italian economy by promoting the culture of open innovation in Italy. Thanks to the collaboration with Elis Open Italy, Acea has been able to develop several innovative projects, including the PASO project which received the EcoHiTech award.

The Polimi Digital Innovation Observatories
Born within the Polytechnic University of Milan with the purpose of creating culture in all the main areas of digital innovation, the Observatories integrate research, communication and continuous updating. Acea took part in the Space Economy vertical observatory in 2021, to explore the technological opportunities and business impacts of Space Economy and test the space technologies.
