Energy from waste

Energy recovery is part of the waste management and treatment process managed by Acea Ambiente. One solution is waste-to-energy, a process that generates electricity from burning waste. Another system is the recovery of biogas in plants that process organic waste - municipal waste from separate collection and waste produced by the agribusiness chain - into a renewable energy source.
In addition, Acea actively participates in national technical and scientific working groups promoted by universities and research institutions to share and evolve its expertise. Proper management of plants and process by-products is of primary importance to the company, which is committed to open and constructive dialogue with communities and territories. The Group works to ensure sustainable and responsible management of resources and energy generated from waste.
