Barbara Marinali

Chairperson

Barbara Marinali was appointed as Chairperson of Acea on 17 February 2023.

She has been independent member of the Webuild Board of Directors since April 2021 and from December 2021 to April 2023 she was Chairperson of Open Fiber.

From September 2020 to March 2022 she was Senior Advisor to the CEO of Snam, particularly also performing the role of team leader for a major infrastructure project pertaining to the water industry in the South of Italy. From 2013 to 2020 she was a member of the first Transport Authority Board.

In over 25 years spent in the Italian public service, she acquired an in-depth knowledge of the administrative machinery, the working of the regulated markets and the Italian institutional framework.

From 2009 to 2013 she was General Manager for road infrastructure with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

From 2006 to 2008 she was Manager of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Economic Planning (CIPE) and headed the Department for Economic Policy Planning and Coordination at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Her other significant experiences include: the Antitrust Authority, the Ministry of economic and finance and the Ministry of production activities (now the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy –MIMIT).

She graduated with honours from Rome’s La Sapienza University and is a chartered accountant and statutory auditor.
