Regularizing the position

The campaign is aimed at anyone who uses the water services without having a supply contract, i.e. those who unlawfully use water violating the principles of equal treatment for all users and protecting water resources.

Voluntary regularization has the following advantages:

• it allows unregistered users to take advantage of the incentives introduced by the new Supply Agreement, valid for a limited time (for further details, please refer to the Supply Agreement);
• o it allows unregistered users to avoid legal and financial sanctions, as well as the interruption of the supply, if the Provider reports the violation to the authorities.
  
  The incentives set out for anyone who voluntarily regularizes their position are:

For residential domestic users

• previous water usage will be charged based on a fixed volume of water (54 cubic meters/year, instead of the usual 180 cubic meters/year) at a favorable rate;
• the fixed penalty and other specific fines, applicable to cover the cost of identifying and removing unauthorized water connections, will be waved;
•  the cost of installing the meter reader will be waved.
  
  For non-residential domestic users

•  the fixed penalty and other specific fines, applicable to cover the cost of identifying and removing unauthorized water connections, will be waved;
• the cost of the new connection will be waved.

The regularization will also allow users who are entitled to them, to apply for incentives such as the water bonus.

Unregistered users – if identified by Acea Ato 2 at any time before they voluntarily regularize their position – in addition to the severe legal sanctions set by the applicable regulation, face the following penalties:

• cost of previous water usage: domestic users will be charged based on a fixed volume of water (180 cubic meters/year), for up to 5 previous years; non-domestic users will be charged based on standard volumes of water applicable to their type of non-domestic supply, applying the full tariff structure valid on the date the unregistered supply was identified;
• fixed penalty to cover the cost of identifying and removing unauthorized water connections: €600;
• specific fines: varying between €80 and €1,000, based on the type of irregularity identified and cumulative;
• cost of installing a meter reader (where required): varying between €180 and €762, depending on the type of meter reader.

Regularization applications can be submitted at the help desks in Piazzale Ostiense 2, in Rome, and at Acea Ato 2 contact offices across the territory, on the days and at the times shown in the Contacts section.
