Sustainable transport for the City of Rome

Chargepoint charging stations to move around town with sustainable transport

Launched at the end of December 2020, this green mobility project, is part of Rome's Electric Mobility Plan. By the end of its first stage, Acea Innovation will have installed over 100 car charging points across the city.

The installed ev charging stations release energy produced only from renewable sources using two distinct technologies: “Quick”, for standard charging, and “Fast”, for a faster and more efficient recharge.

In Rome, electric charging point installation was carried out in full compliance with the Capital's Planning provisions.

Green Mobility in Rome: the figures

Over 300
electric charging stations authorized
2,200
car charging points across the whole country by 2024
29 mln
overall investment in green mobility

Data as at April 2022

The project supports Rome's mobility plans and the energy transition through the development of a widespread network of interoperable charging infrastructure at the service of e-mobility  in Rome, a city where the environmental impact of transport is especially strong. Endowing the city with charging stations is therefore a critical first step.

Our path towards sustainable transport begins with Rome, “a city where we have our roots and where Acea has made substantial contributions to the development of water and energy infrastructures” stated Giuseppe Gola, Chief Executive officer of the Acea Group.
