Since December 2024 Vittorio Zane has been Chief Operating Officer of Acea, where he had already held the position of Head of Procurement and Material Management Function. He was also appointed Chairman of Areti in November 2024.
Before his appointment at Acea, Vittorio Zane spent a significant part of his career in the Fincantieri Group. From January 2023 he was Senior Vice President Operation, Investments and Industrial Asset Management at the Fincantieri headquarters in Trieste. Previously, from December 2018 to December 2022, he was Senior Vice President Investments and Asset & Energy Management, again at the Fincantieri headquarters in Trieste, coordinating the expansion and modernization plan for the shipyard assets in that period.
From December 2016 to November 2018 he worked in Norway as Executive Vice President and Executive Director of Vard Holdings Ltd, a Norwegian group controlled by Fincantieri and among the world leaders of specialized vessels for the offshore market. He was at the same time Director of the “Expedition Cruise Vessels” business segment. In addition, from November 2014 to December 2016, it was Executive Vice President Corporate Development and Executive Director of Vard Holdings Ltd, also in Norway.
From May 2013 to October 2014 he held the role of Senior Executive Vice President of Fincantieri, reporting to the Group CEO and responsible for the integration and development of synergies with Vard Group, acquired by Fincantieri in January 2013. From January 2010 to April 2013 he was Executive Vice President Merchant Vessel Business Unit – Deputy Director of the Merchant Ships Directorate, the Directorate responsible for the design and construction of cruise ships. Previously, from March 2006 to December 2009, he was Senior Vice President Planning and Control – Head of Economic Planning and Management Control of the Fincantieri Group in Trieste and, from September 2005 to February 2006, he was Vice President Business Development within the newly established M&A and Business Development Department.
Before joining Fincantieri, Vittorio Zane worked at McKinsey & Co in Milan from October 2002 to September 2005. From June 1999 to October 2001, he was in Turkey for Saipem as Project Engineer Turkey Branch for the Blue Stream Project (construction of the Blue Stream gas pipeline across the Black Sea). From April 1998 to May 1999, still in Saipem, he carried out development and implementation activities of the new guidelines and operational instructions of the QSHE Management.
He began his career at Mining Italiana SpA in Rome where, from October 1996 to March 1998, he was Field Engineer and he carried out research projects in the field of rock salt extraction and applied mining engineering.
Vittorio Zane graduated in Engineering from the University of Trieste with 110/110 cum laude. He also holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan.
