Pierfrancesco Latini has been Head of the Risk Management, Compliance and Sustainability Function of the Acea Group since September 2023.
He has held top positions in the management of various banking groups, in the fields of risk management and sustainable finance. From December 2019 to May 2022 he was CEO of SACE, a joint-stock company specializing in export insurance and the issuing of financial guarantees.
Between June 2016 and December 2019 he worked at the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group as Chief Risk Officer, with responsibility for the areas of Risk Management, Risk Operations, Risk Governance, Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering.
From 2008 to 2016 he worked at the BNP Paribas Group, where he was Chief Risk Officer of BNL and the BNP Paribas Group for Italy. During this period he was part of the bank’s management committee, as well as the Risk Executive Committee of the Group, and he participated in the boards of directors of Ifitalia International Factors, BNPP Leasing Solutions, Business Partner Italia, CRIF and the Italian Financial Industry Risk Managers Association.
Between 2007 and 2008 he assumed the role of Chief Risk Officer in the Retail Division/Unicredit Banca per la Casa (Unicredit Group). Previously, from 2003 to 2007, he held the position of Deputy Central Director and Head of Credit Monitoring for Capitalia Group.
From 1999 to 2003 he was at ItaInvest S.p.A., first as Head of Risk Management & Asset Allocation and then as Director of Attraction of Foreign Investments and Territorial Marketing of Sviluppo Italia. Between 1998 and 1999 he was Head of the Integrated Asset and Liability Management Office at BNL.
From 1994 to 1998 he worked in Arthur Andersen MBA - Financial Market Department as a Business Consultant. He was part of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (European Commission in Brussels) in the role of Analyst (1993-1994) and, previously, he was appointed Complementary Officer of the Guardia di Finanza (Italian Finance Police) at the IV Department of the General Command (1992-1993).
Pierfrancesco Latini was a member of the Board of Directors of Saipem, Ansaldo Energia, Airfirm and of the Investors Committee of the Italian Recovery Fund. He also participated in the work of the Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance (TEG) on Sustainable Finance for the European Commission.
Pierfrancesco Latini graduated with honors in Economics and Business from Rome’s LUISS Guido Carli University. He is qualified to practice as a Chartered Accountant and Auditor. He also carried out academic research at the Economic Studies Office of LUISS and worked as a scholarship holder from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the University of Economic Sciences of Budapest.
