We can now monitor and operate the whole infrastructure remotely using one system, ensuring citizens uninterrupted service, quality and efficiency, explains Roberto De Romanis, Head of Tor di Valle and Montemartini Plants and Director of the Energy Services Unit. This system, which will gradually be extended to all hydroelectric plants and to photovoltaic plants going forward, is called Wonderware and provides other advantages, such as automation and record-keeping. Based on a steady dialogue between the network and the plant, power generation becomes self-regulating, either increasing or decreasing production according to demand. Moreover, the creation of a database containing historical data on plant performance will simplify the evaluation and planning of maintenance operations.Roberto De Romanis, Head of Tor di Valle and Montemartini Plants and Director of the Energy Services Unit
