From the historic centre to the new districts, from the pedestrianised alleyways to the major consular roads, from the piazzas to the public parks, each area has its own soul and particular features. Acea’s commitment is to manage Rome’s electricity service, providing each part of the city with the same quality and the same efficiency.
With a constant eye on the technological innovation processes, Acea identifies sustainable solutions that can positively impact the efficiency of the lighting service, respect for the environment and optimisation of energy consumption, saving over 50% compared to current consumption levels.
The LED plan was launched in 2016. It is a revolutionary project in terms of the numbers and territorial scope, which envisages the gradual replacement of gas bulbs with LED technology, for both public lighting and artistic.
The plan has involved the installation of more than 170,000 LEDs in 15 different municipalities and the aim is to install 182,556 new LEDs by the end of the project.
The project is already yielding concrete results in terms of the quality of service perceived by citizens. In fact, 82% consider that LED lighting is important for the city for three motives: the reduction in consumption, the improved perception of roadside colours and respect the environment. For this and other reasons, today almost 1 in 3 residents say that they are very satisfied with the public lighting service: a figure up by 4% compared to previous years.
