From the historic centre to the new districts, from the large consular roads, the squares and public parks, each area has its own soul and unique features. Acea’s commitment is to manage Rome’s electricity service, assuring each district of the city the same quality and efficiency.
Ever attentive to technological innovation, Acea identifies sustainable solutions that have positive impacts on the efficiency of the lighting service, on respect for the environment and the optimisation of energy consumption, saving over 50% compared to current consumption levels.
The LED plan was launched in 2016. It is a revolutionary project in terms of the numbers and territorial scope, which envisages the gradual replacement of gas bulbs with LED technology, for both public lighting and artistic.
The plan has involved the installation of more than 170,000 LEDs in 15 different municipalities and the aim is to install 182,556 new LEDs by the end of the project.
It is already yielding concrete results in terms of the quality of service perceived by citizens. 82% in fact believe that LED lighting is important for the city for three reasons: to reduce consumptions, to improve the perception of colours along the streets and to respect the environment. This has also helped mean that 1 in every 3 residents has declared that they are “very satisfied” with the public lighting service: the figure has grown by 4% on previous years.
