Rome, 13 March 2013 – In response to today’s press agency reports, regarding Acea’s potential role in gas distribution in Rome, the Company wishes to clarify that the agreement with Italgas, among other things, gives Acea the option to acquire an interest of between 5% and 25% in a newco, to which Italgas would contribute the unit responsible for gas distribution in the municipality of Rome.

Over the coming weeks Acea will examine all the related financial and industrial aspects before deciding whether or not to exercise this option.

The resulting decisions will be announced to the market in due course.
