Press Release

The initiative is in line with the commitment made by the company with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Education, to promote information and training activities in schools on the conscious use of water

Acea launches "CentriAMO l'obiettivo #educazioneidrica #ognunodinoi” (Let's focus on the goal #watereducation #eachofus), the water and environmental saving education project aimed at primary and secondary school students in Rome.
In a second phase, in fact, the project will also be extended at the national level.
The initiative, which is part of the traditional events of Acea Scuola and the second edition of the "Map of the educating city", promoted by Roma Capitale, is in line with the commitment made by the company with the signing of the three-year Memorandum of Understanding between the Minister of Public Education, Giuseppe Valditara, and the CEO of Acea, Fabrizio Palermo, to promote information and training activities in schools on the conscious use of water. The Memorandum, which represents a novelty at national and European level, aims to deepen all issues related to the water cycle to spread the culture of sustainable water use among young people.
The 2024 edition of Acea Scuola, which will take place online, will be divided into three sessions dedicated to the theme of water, energy transition and sustainability. With a playful-scientific approach, it will tell students about the journey of water, from its sources to our homes, the new scenarios of the energy transition and the importance of sustainability to defend the planet's resources.
The objective of the Acea Group is to promote a new education on water saving and reaffirm its constant commitment to the defense of water and the environment in the face of scenarios imposed by climate change and the risk of drought. This course will also be an opportunity to introduce students to the work and technologies that the Group employs in ensuring the protection and quality of a precious resource such as water and in the management of its water service that reaches ten million people every day, in six different regions.
The Acea Scuola project will end with a contest aimed at students who can participate by sending videos on issues related to water and environmental education or by presenting a sit-com in three episodes, to be carried out with the support of an Acea troupe that, thanks to this initiative, will return in person to the premises of schools.
All materials, which shall be sent by 30 April 2024, will be evaluated by a jury that will award the three winning institutions a prize for the purchase of teaching materials.
