Protecting customers is a priority for the Society
With reference to the Italian Monopolies and Mergers Commission (AGCM) orders imposing economic sanctions on six of the primary electricity and natural gas suppliers on the free market, amounting to a total of more than 15 million euros, including Acea Energia, which was fined 560,000 euros. The Company explains that it has consistently adhered to current regulations and upheld its customers rights, and therefore reserves the right to consider all necessary measures to reaffirm the correctness of its actions.
The company also notes that the AGCMs objections concern only a notably minority of the communications sent to its customers, and therefore the penalty imposed was more moderate than for other operators, also taking into account the fact that the Company had promptly complied with the Authority's requirements.
In a market environment that was particularly difficult in 2022 due to the sharp increase and volatility in prices of energy products, Acea highlights that it has taken all necessary actions with the aim of protecting its customers in both the short and long term.
