Approximately 400 students involved in four regions. The goal: the training and orientation of young people

The winners of “GenerAzione 2030", the Acea Group's school-to-work alternation project, now in its sixth edition, have been awarded. The final event of the Path for soft skills and orientation (Percorso per le competenze trasversali e l’orientamento, PCTO) was held yesterday, involving 13 schools and about 400 students from technical institutes and high schools in four regions: Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria, and Campania.

"GenerAzione 2030" is a path dedicated to the training and orientation of young people towards the world of employment created in collaboration with the ELIS Consortium. This path represents an important opportunity for Acea to strengthen its social commitment and offer its contribution to the training of young people who, through an effective learning experience, had the opportunity to acquire new skills and knowledge necessary to orient themselves and enter in the world of employment.

The project gave fourth-year students the opportunity to meet closely the Group Companies operating in the territories, with the aim of allowing the students to deepen their knowledge of the company and its business. Each Company of the Group defined a project work on which the students worked, guided by the experts of the Acea companies, to develop their own solution.

Starting this year, a specific module on orientation, called "Acea orienta", has been created. Dedicated to fifth-year students, it envisaged a discussion between the Group’s Human Resources experts and young people, with the aim of deepening the skills of the professional profiles most in demand on the market, structure one's CV and face selection interviews with greater awareness.

The following are the best projects presented during the Innovation Challenge Lab guided, together with the schools, by the Group Companies acting as promoters of the initiative in the territories:

  • Technical Institute Carlo Matteucci (Rome) - Project Work: Project for a hanging tank to be inserted in the area in front of the school
  • Industrial Technical Institute Faraday (Rome) – Project Work: CO2 reduction/segregation
  • State Industrial Technical Institute Nicola Parravano (Arpino) – Project Work: Analysis and treatment of water and steam; water treatment in the company cycle and mechanical aspects
  • Technical School District Amelia (Amelia) – Project Work: Management of microplastics: separation and treatment upon entry into the purification plant
  • Professional Technical Scientific Hub Fermi-Giorgi (Lucca) – Project Work: Innovative solutions for the responsible and conscious use of water resources

All the students received a certificate of participation, while the members of the five winning teams were awarded an Amazon voucher, accompanied by the Acea Group Sustainability Report.
