With regard to the 'Extraordinary contribution against high utility bills', instituted by the legislator for the year 2022 for companies operating in the energy sector, the Acea Group announces that the total amount of the contribution has been determined in €28.5 million and that the amount due has been paid in accordance with the procedures and timing provided for by the regulations. However, Acea clarifies that a considerable part of the tax base determined for the Group’s companies is not attributable to the extra profits that the legislator intends to tax, but rather to extraordinary transactions. In view of this, our company has taken the necessary actions to challenge the regulations, recognizing elements of – even constitutional – illegitimacy.
