Today, the Board of Directors of Gesesa appointed Domenico Russo as its Chairman. Mr Russo replaces Luigi Abbate at the helm of the integrated water service company from the Sannio area.
The Board, "confirming its appreciation for the work of the CEO and in the spirit of continuity with regard to the company’s management and objectives, has unanimously resolved to appoint board member Domenico Russo as Chairman of the Board of Directors”.

Domenico Russo was born in Naples on 10 December 1977. He is married with three daughters.
He graduated from “Pietro Giannone” Classical High School in Benevento. In 2001, he graduated in Law from Federico II University in Naples and subsequently obtained: a Second Level University Master degree in Public Administration Management from the University of Sannio - Department of Law, Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods-, presenting the thesis “Fighting corruption in Public Administrations”, and attaining the mark 110/110 with distinction; a First Level University Master degree in “Experts in Liability of Collective Entities for crimes pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree no. 231/2001” at “Giustino Fortunato” University in Benevento, organized in collaboration with “Rivista 231”, attaining the mark 70/70; another Second Level University Master in “Experts in Liability of Collective Entities for crimes pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree no. 231/2001” at “Giustino Fortunato” University in Benevento, organized in collaboration with “Rivista 231”, attaining the mark 70/70. Over the years he has attended courses and seminars in several training institutions such as the “SDA Bocconi” School of Business Management of the Bocconi University in Milan, and the School of Political Sciences and Trade Union Relations at the University of International Studies in Rome.
In January 2006, he qualified to practice law, ranking as one of the top licentiates in the District of the Court of Appeal of Naples. From January to July 2009, he attended the Training School for Specialist Criminal Attorneys in Rome at the Union of the Italian Criminal Law Associations and the Italian National Bar Council. In 2016 he took the preparatory course for enrollment in the Special Supreme Court Bar and before the other Superior Courts, at the Higher Education Law School, Supreme Court Barristers Section, and in 2017 he qualified, having passed the final exam.
Since 2006 he has been the owner of the Domenico Russo Law Firm in Benevento, practicing as a self-employed Attorney (enrolled in the Bar Association of Benevento since February 13th, 2006) in the sectors of criminal law, administrative law, labor law and civil law. There he provides assistance and consulting services to private citizens and companies, banking and insurance institutions, local authorities, local health authorities, hospitals, public and private sector employees, self-employed professionals, members of the armed forces and law enforcement, representatives of the institutions.
To date, he has practiced in both criminal and civil lawsuits, before various Courts throughout Italy, before Courts of Appeal, at the Supreme Court - criminal and civil - and before the Court of Review, the Surveillance Court, the Regional Administrative Court, the Council of State and the Court of Audit.
Since academic year 2018/2019 he has been Adjunct Professor of the course/workshop “Legal arguments for the notary, attorney, magistrate professions” in the single-cycle degree course in Law taught at “Giustino Fortunato” University of Benevento (teaching appointment confirmed for academic years 2019/2020, 2020/2021).
Formerly specializing in Criminal Procedural Law, he collaborated with the Professors of Criminal Procedural Law and Corporate Criminal Procedure and Law at “Giustino Fortunato“ University of Benevento, participating in the teaching activities and as a member of the exam board. He has been the Presiding Judge in the Criminal Chamber of Benevento and Ariano Irpino since July 2019; previously he was Secretary and member of the Council from October 2015.
Since February 2018, he has been President of the Supervisory Body pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 231/01 for “Musinet Engineering S.p.A.” (Gavio Group – Anas – Italian State Railways Group).
Since October 2018, he has been President of the Supervisory Body pursuant to Italian Legislative Decree 231/01 for “Sitalfa S.p.A.”(Gavio Group - Anas – Italian State Railways Group).
Since January 2019 he has worked with “Rivista 231” for the periodical “La responsabilità amministrativa delle società e degli enti” (The administrative liability of companies and authorities). He is the author of the following articles: “Prevention of corruption, transparency and model 231 in publicly controlled listed companies and their subsidiaries” and “Representation and participation of the authority in criminal proceedings pursuant to Article 39 of Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001: Supreme Court second criminal section, judgment no. 27542 of June 20th 2019”.
In November 2020 the collective volume “La custodia cautelare in carcere” (Pre-trial detention in jail) was published by Editoriale Scientifica, in which he wrote the article “The effects of pre-trial detention in jail on the parental relationship”.
From 2008 to 2011 he was Chairman of the Board of Trustees for disciplinary proceedings concerning managers at the Municipality of Benevento.
By way of Italian Decree of the Minister of Justice of November 30th 2017, he was appointed as tenured member of the 13th examining sub-committee for the Bar Exam 2017-2018 at the Court of Appeal in Naples, a role he filled until February 2019. In 2016 he was a member of the board for the qualifying exam for registration in the list of court-appointed attorneys at the Council of the Bar of Benevento.
He has spoken at courses and conferences, on topics regarding criminal and criminal procedural law.
In 2015 he was tutor and owner of the hosting structure for traineeships in collaboration with the “Luiss Guido Carli” University of Rome – Placement & Career Education Office.
In the 2-year period from 2014 to 2015 he was a member of the scientific committee of the Territorial School of training and updating of the criminal attorney, and supervisor in the training courses. Since 2015 he has been the manager of the Anti-violence Center of the Provincial Committee of the Red Cross of Benevento. From 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the board of directors of the predominantly mutual cooperative joint-stock company “La Fagianella” of Benevento. In 2006, he was a member of the scientific committee and tutor for the preparatory course for the Bar exam organized by the Italian National Bar Association of Benevento.
In the 2-year period spanning 2002 and 2003, he collaborated with the company “Domenico Russo & Figli – Industria del legno dal 1852 – S.p.A.” and he was delegated to the National Council as representative of the Young Entrepreneurs Group of Benevento. He was also the vice-president of the Executive Committee of the Young Peoples’ Group of Confindustria Campania.
The composition of the current Board of Directors remains confirmed: Vittorio Cuciniello, Alessandra Itro, Giovanni Paolo Marati, Federica Marinetti, Antonio Orafo, Patrizia Vasta.
