The Top Utility Awards were assigned today, during the conference “Investing in utilities for a future of development”, dedicated to the Italian companies that stand out in the public service sector. The “Sustainability” award was won by Acea “for its growing achievements - as stated in the official motivation - in relation to environment protection and social responsi-bility, and for its continued commitment to sustainability as part of its business strategy”.

The Top Utility awards, which have reached their eighth edition, are the main Italian think tank and are coordinated by Althesys, who every year assesses the 100 largest companies in the water, gas and waste management sector and awards the most deserving taking into account competitiveness dynamics and commitment to environment and innovation.

This prize is an important acknowledgment of the company’s incessant and growing commitment to sustainability, which is also reflected in its business choices. In fact, its 2019-2022 business plan includes an investment of 1.7 billion euros in projects related to sustainability.

Additionally, this year Acea has been awarded leadership status by the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project), the independent organization that assesses com-pany policies and performances in relation to climate change.
