Review the highlights of the Acea Innovation Day
A school from Campania, one from Tuscany and one from Umbria designed the best projects to improve energy efficiency during the second edition of the project Ideazione, the Acea Group's programme that alternates school and work. The award for the section dedicated to water went to IIS Tito Sarrocchi of Siena, for energy to ITTS Alessandro Volta of Perugia and for the environment to ITI Renato Elia of Castellammare di Stabia (Naples).
This year, the project created in collaboration with Consel involved approximately 500 students from 12 technical and vocational schools. All the companies in the Group (Acea Ambiente, Acea Ato 2, Acea Ato 5, Acea Elabori, Acea Energia, Acea8cento, Areti, Acea Produzione, Acque, Acquedotto del Fiora, Gesesa, Gori and Umbra Acque), operating in Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria and Campania, took part.
“Our Company wanted the project Ideazione to activate a virtual exchange between school and company via an alternative, theoretical and practical educational course involving innovation and sustainability. In fact, the company identified the principal skills of future professional figures selected by the circular economy, and set out a training strategy, which materialised into the creation of this project."
Pierluigi Palmigiani, Acea's Head of Development of Human Capital
The aim of the initiative was not merely to promote technical and scientific knowledge, but also to arouse the young people’s interest and expose them to topics of technological and environmental innovation. The jury, consisting of Acea Group managers, assessed not only the technical and innovative value of the works proposed, but also the students' ability to present their projects, to account for their choices and portray new scenarios to manage resources in an eco-sustainable economy.
