Acea Ato 5 reports

The campaign started by Acea Ato 5 in 2019 to replace old water meters, will continue in 2021.
Replacing all water meters requires a significant financial commitment from the Integrated Water Service Provider. The activities are included in the investment plan covered by tariffs and customers are not required to pay for the work.
The plan to replace the meters is the implementation of Ministerial Decree No. 93 of 21 April 2017, that requires compliance with the new applicable regulations within a few years.
The water meter is a measuring device that must ensure precision and reliability, especially in the interest of customers. In fact, integrated water service tariffs are based on meter readings: water meters that work efficiently ensure better tariffs and bills in line with the actual amount of water consumed.
As measuring devices, water meters must undergo regular checks to ensure they work correctly, as required by the applicable regulations.
In 2019 and 2020, Acea Ato 5 has already replaced approximately 60,000 water meters and 30,000 more new meters will be installed in 2021. The objective is to replace all meters over a period of a few years.
New meters are being installed every month in one municipality after the other. Affected customers will be notified in advance of the work scheduled to replace their meter.
Also local authorities will be informed of the activities scheduled across their territory, to be able to notify communities.
Customers are not required to be present when the work takes place, unless the meter is located on private property, in which case engineers will require access to the property for the sole purpose of replacing the meter. In these cases, customers will be contacted in advance to schedule an appointment. In any case, the letter that notifies customers of the work also contains the telephone numbers and the channels that can be used to contact those in charge of installing the new meter.
Customers may wish to update their contact details on www.aceaato5.it and register on the MyAcea platform to link their details to their water supply account.
All services can be accessed calling the toll-free number 800 639 251 (from land lines and mobiles), active from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 19:00; Saturday from 08:00 to 13:00 (except on national holidays).
The new meters also help customers monitor their consumption and are easier to read, thanks to simple numbers used to indicate the cubic meters.
