Acea Ato 5 reports

Waidy is here. It’s the innovative free app offered by Acea to locate fountains and drinking water fountains across our territory, to promote sensible and plastic-free water consumption and encourage the use of refillable containers while offering the opportunity to rediscover hundreds of water distribution points available in the province of Frosinone.
Waidy is a fun and practical platform that allows users to locate the approximately 6,000 drinking water fountains active across the territory served by the Acea Group and provides historic and artistic information and details on the quality of the water. The app can also be used to report issues with the service.
The application was presented in Rome at the beginning of August, during the event “Rome and water, a great love story”. As Acea CEO Giuseppe Gola said on that occasion, Waidy was designed and developed by a team of employees of Acea and AdF (a company part of the Acea Group that operates in the province of Siena and Grosseto), as part of an Acea internal entrepreneurship contest aimed at promoting sustainability and innovation. It is a tool that aims at improving the good quality of the service and protect and valorize such an important and essential resource as water. It is dedicated to the young generations, to those who practice sport, tourists, and all users of the water service. Waidy will also allow users to take part in games, contests, and challenges among users in an interactive and fun way. The objective of the project is to form a smart water community to guarantee the sustainable use of water, promote a sensible use of the resource, and raise awareness about the environment and health, all elements in line with the core values of the Acea Group.
The Waidy app can be downloaded from Google Play and Apple Store and allows users to locate the nearest drinking water fountains and historical fountains and find out about their history and the quality of the water. The service is aimed at encouraging the use of refillable containers and contribute to reducing single-use plastic water bottles as well as promoting a responsible use of water. Via the app, users can report issues and request information on the quantity and quality of the water (thanks to a direct link to the MyAcea portal).
The application allows users to keep track of their hydration levels, important to ensure good health. Additionally, it promotes fun contests in which individual users and entire neighborhoods can challenge each other and accumulate points. The Hydra points accumulated with each challenge can be transformed into prizes, for example to help improve the local urban furniture of the most deserving neighborhood. Currently the contest categories are: Green, Urban Decor, Kids and Sport. All information is available on
Users can simply download the app and start discovering (or rediscovering) the many water points (fountains, wall fountains, historical fountains) available in their area and join the community.
