The technological platform for sustainable management of the water cycle, developed by the Group in collaboration with NTT DATA Italia, wins Service Design award

Waidy® Management System (WMS) wins the iF DESIGN AWARD 2023, one of the most prestigious design awards worldwide. WMS, the technological platform developed by Acea in collaboration with NTT DATA Italia to facilitate the management of water resources throughout their lifecycle, has been awarded in the Service Design category. The WMS design was handled by Tangity, NTT DATA’s design studio and part of the NTT DATA Design Network. Every year, the oldest design independent body for design in Hanover - iF International Forum Design GmbH, holds the iF DESIGN AWARD. This year’s edition saw a total of almost 11,000 nominations submitted from 56 countries.

The intuitive, innovative Waidy® Management System is aimed to offer an advanced tool to support the management of the integrated water service as well as to protect water resources. Waidy® Management System was named winner by a 133-member panel, including world-renowned independent experts. The key to success was the ability to respond to the increasingly widespread need to optimize in a sustainable way the consumption of one of the most valuable resources of the planet, water. The implementation of Waidy® Management System in the water infrastructures supervised by the Group’s companies contributed to a reduction in networks leaks up to 35% and a fault rate decrease by up to 25%.
