The tender won by the Group has an estimated value of over €1 billion

Acea consolidates its leadership in the water sector, expanding its presence in Italy, where over ten million residents are presently served. Alongside the established management role already performed in six regions, after the tender recently awarded in Sicily, Liguria has now also been added.

Acea has in fact, through Acea Molise (100% Acea), won the tender called by the province of Imperia to select a private partner for Rivieracqua. The newly-created public-private joint venture company, which will be 48% owned by Acea and will hold the concession until 2042, will manage the Integrated Water Service for the ATO Ovest Territorial Authority in the Province of Imperia.

The tender, which has an estimated value of over 1 billion Euro, concerns the management of about 2,000 Km of water network, around 1,000 Km of sewerage network, 155 thousand users, corresponding to 210 thousand residents served in 43 municipalities, of which 40 in the province of Imperia and 3 in the province of Savona.

Francesco Buresti, Acea Acqua’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are proud that our technical-economic offer was deemed the best. This demonstrates the value of our skills and professionalism in the water sector serving the territories and communities in which we operate. Thanks to the launch of the new management, it will be possible to carry out the investments needed to guarantee a more efficient water service for the communities of Imperia and Savona. We believe that the path undertaken by the Province of Imperia, of integrating a strong industrial player into the team that will manage the service, is optimal”.
