Press Release

The Group participates in debates and hosts a stand showcasing the latest cutting-edge technological solutions in the water, energy, and environmental sectors.

Acea is participating in the 41st Annual Assembly of Italian municipalities, titled "We build Italy day by day", taking place in Turin until 22 November. The Group, which provides essential services to citizens across more than 16 regions of Italy through its companies, always in collaboration with local institutions, and especially municipalities, has a presence at the event with an exhibition space of approximately one hundred square meters. Here some of its most significant projects are showcased, supported by the use of LED walls and 3D viewers.

Acea Ato 2, a company within the Group responsible for the integrated water service, is showcasing virtual reality stations, 3D viewers which allow visitors to perform body movements, which are then precisely translated into realistic virtual reality. Visitors also have the opportunity to hear the surrounding environment thanks to positional audio integrated into the viewer. The "Robotics For Water" project, instead, aims to integrate robotic solutions into the water sector to enhance operational efficiency and safety. The robotic techniques are applied in three main areas: inspecting and monitoring infrastructures with advanced sensors, performing maintenance and repair operations on pipelines, and supporting construction activities with excavation robots and material handling solutions. In particular, the "sewerball" will be exhibited. The "sewerball" is a sensorized sphere that will be introduced into the sewage system to monitor up to 5 physical and chemical parameters. Areti, another company of the Group responsible for electricity distribution in Rome, introduces "TEDDI", a mobile quadruped robot capable of independently carrying out inspections and digitalizing data for predictive monitoring of network infrastructures. Areti also presents a quadcopter drone, already employed for detailed surveys of overhead network infrastructures. Both tools contribute to the data collection necessary for creating Digital Twin of infrastructures.

It is not just about projects: on 22 November, Francesco Buresti, Head of the Water Business Unit at Acea, will participate in the panel “We build Italy...for Stefano, who wants to give a future to the planet", scheduled at 10:00 a.m. in the presence of Matteo Salvini, Minister of Infrastructure and Transportation, and Daniela Santanché, Minister of Tourism. Among the seminars organized by Acea, two key events will take place on Thursday, 21 November: “The new generation of waste-to-energy plants” at 10:30 a.m., and “The opportunities of the reuse of treated wastewater” at 12:00 p.m.

It will be possible to follow Acea’s and Anci’s activities on the Group’s social media channels and on the webpage dedicated to the event.
