The Group is among the companies signatory to the initiative which aims to strengthen the role of the social dimension in corporate strategies

Acea has joined the initiative of the UN Global Compact Network Italy. The CEO of Acea Fabrizio Palermo signed the "Businesses for People and Society" Manifesto, the text aimed at companies and drawn up by the local network of the United Nations Global Compact, the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world.

With the signing of the Manifesto, the Acea Group continues its commitment to strengthening the role of the social dimension in its corporate strategies to generate long-term value also in the supply chain and in the communities in which it operates. Acea is thus committed to promoting business practices that contribute to the well-being of people and society, aligning with the UN sustainable development goals, in order to ensure a fair and sustainable future for generations to come, leaving no one behind. Among the fundamental points of the document: integrate the social dimension into corporate strategies and enhance the creation of social value by businesses; respect Human Rights and Labor Rights; develop a culture of inclusion, respect for diversity and equity; commit to the well-being of workers; identify corporate finance actions and synergies in favor of the social dimension; promote practices that strengthen equity and reduce inequalities.

The United Nations Global Compact is a special initiative of the United Nations Secretary-General that has the mandate to guide and support the global business community in promoting the goals and values ​​of the United Nations through responsible business practices. With more than 20,000 companies and over 3,500 nonprofit signatories based in 167 countries and 62 local networks, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world.
