The plant was built by Acea Ato 5, after a 40-year wait, thanks to a €500,000 investment

The new treatment plant for the Municipality of Sant’Apollinare was inaugurated this morning. The ceremony was attended by mayor Enzo Scittarelli, Stefano Magini president of Acea Ato 5, representatives of the Municipal Administration, engineers and operators of the company that manages the integrated water service and a number of private citizens. The plant, built in the Rivozzolo area, has a treatment capacity sufficient for 1,500 people and, starting today, will provide the right domestic sewage treatment solution for the urban area, which until now was not reached by the service. The work, for a total investment of over €500,000, started in November last year and ended in June. Additionally, Acea Ato 5 has contracted out the work to renew the last part of the sewage lines to the treatment plant. The mayor of Sant’Apollinare, Enzo Scittarelli, said: <Works of fundamental utility for the entire community have been completed after a 40-year wait. This goes to show that great results can be obtained when working in synergy. Acea Ato 5 responded to our requests and built a state-of-the-art treatment plant in a short time. Therefore, I am very pleased to thank president Stefano Magini, who has always been sensitive to our requests, and his collaborators, who worked hard to complete this important work>.The president of Acea Ato 5, Stefano Magini, said: <The direction we took from the start with the Municipality of Sant’Apollinare, based on dialog and collaboration, is the route Acea Ato 5 intends to follow with each Municipality, identifying all local issues, establishing priorities and providing solid answers, as we did today. Acea Ato 5 simply manages the integrated water service. The plants it builds are owned by the Municipalities. The advantage is that we are able to build now plants that the Municipality wouldn’t have had the resources to build on its own. The work was possible thanks to the support that comes from being a part of a larger entity, such as Ato 5. The new treatment plant is a great achievement in terms of both environment and water protection>.
