"Makers are people with a keen sense of innovation, who create products to give society a simpler, more enjoyable future"
Acea took part as sponsor and exhibitor for the fourth consecutive year in Maker Faire Rome, the most important event in Europe dedicated to innovation, held from 12 to 14 October in the areas of the New Fiera di Roma.
With over 50,000 m2 available and a programme crammed with live performances, workshops, laboratories for everyone and a large Area for Kids & Education for infants and young children, Maker Faire Rome is a highly creative, family-friendly event, which celebrates the technological “DIY” culture of the “Makers movement”. The main themes of the sixth edition were energy, sustainability and drones, without forgetting health and quality of life.

Acea welcomed visitors to its own stand in Pavilion 8 Electronics/Fabrication and guided them along a fascinating, virtual journey through the different sectors of Water, Energy and the Environment.
Acea's novelties in this edition included technologies of environmental mapping and scanning, used to accurately map and scan electricity and water networks and enable high resolution surveys to be made of large and small infrastructure surfaces. These major technologies have been created for workers' safety and use: for example, they can remotely guide an operator and thus prevent accidents caused by gas leaks or other hazardous substances.
We also have room for youngsters. Acea has been involved in various events in schools over the years and is now proposing an interesting educational activity straight from First® LEGO® League, the world competition which challenges students in the subjects of science and robotics. Pairs of visitors can book to take part in a 45-minute session to try to construct and programme a real robot.
