Acea School. I’m committed to the environment!

School year 2016-2017

School year 2016-2017

"I’m committed to the environment!" is the new initiative, conceived by Acea for the world of school dedicated to primary (final years) and middle school students and teachers in Rome capital and the metropolitan city.  The new project for this school year is a unique, fun way of learning about what the company does. The initiative is part of Acea for the School and seeks to promote training and research through educational teaching initiatives intended for the institutions of Rome and province.

The initiative is sponsored by the Italian Institute of Health and the Councillor for People, School and Community Solidarity and promoted by the XI Permanent School Board Commission of Rome Capital with the aim of conveying information and contents on essential topics such as water, energy and the environment. This year too, Acea chose to develop a Project with no cost to the students and teachers taking part.

The three themes of I’m committed to the environment!

The water cycle, the energy chain and waste-to-energy are the three key themes of the I’m committed to the environment! project for the school year 2016-2017. The initiative has been conceived as an essential teaching-educational tool by which to raise awareness amongst students to environmental issues. It is a unique, fun way to learn all about the actions-resources-technologies that Acea, the company at the service of Roman citizens and major national multiutility company, employs to preserve the territory in which it has been operating for more than a hundred years.

Rewarding of the 2017 Rating Campaign winners

Great success enjoyed by the 2017 Rating Campaign with 36 schools taking part and 63 projects presented. The initiative prize-giving took place at 10:00 on Wednesday, 24 May 2017, at the Acea office in Piazzale Ostiense. The conference was attended by the Chairman of Acea, Luca Lanzalone, the Head of Special Communication Projects, Maurizio Sandri, the Chairman of the XI Commission - School of Rome Capital, Teresa Zotta and by Carlton Myers, former captain of the Italian national basketball team and Technical Director of Acea Camp.

The I’m committed to the environment! project combines territorial development topics with local public services and constitutes an important initiative of the first “2017 Sustainable Development Festival - Designing the Future. Changing the Present’, organised by ASvis for the European Week of Sustainable Development, which envisages a wide range of initiatives to be organised from 22 May through to 7 June throughout Italy, investigating the various topics linked to the UN 2030 Agenda.
